Claire

Pam
Why? What’s the matter?
Claire
I’m fed up with my parents! They want to control my life. Just every part of it.
Pam
Come on! Don’t look so gloomy. What’s upset you so badly?
Claire
I had an awful row with my father. You know, my parents never really listen to me. They just don’t want to know about my problems.
Pam
I know how it feels. But what can you do about it?
Claire
Absolutely nothing! Just wait until I grow up.
Pam
Why don’t you talk through your worries with someone you trust? Do you have anyone?
Claire
Yes, my grandma. She’s a great listener. The other day when I had this awful row with my father, I ran away ...
Pam
No! You ran away?!
Claire
Yes, and I went to my grandma’s. I had some of her home-made cake, and then we talked and talked and talked. It felt so good.
Pam
Is there anything I can do to help?
Claire
No, don’t bother, really.
